Causes and Symptoms of Passive-Aggressive Personality Disorder

Have you met someone at your workplace or in your circle of friends and family who meets the needs and desires of others? The same person tends to show a dark and sudden behavior in order to forget or delay the problem to which they were asked. These people find it hard to say what they really feel and can not say that they do not like what they should do. These people suffer from a personality trait known as a passive-aggressive personality disorder.

A passive-aggressive personality disorder is a clinical personality disorder. It is recognized as a personality disorder of Axis II, in simple terms, a negativistic personality disorder. A person with passive aggressive behavior tends to show behavioral characteristics through passive resistance when performing tasks she does not want to do.

A person with this disorder tends to suffer from a chronic illness where it tends to satisfy the wishes of others. However, they passively resist desires, become angry and hostile from within.

Passive-aggressive personality disorder manifests as stubbornness, resentment, postponement of mood swings, impotence, etc. The person may even show repeated or deliberate failure to perform even a simple task for which they are responsible. It is actually a form of defense mechanism and the person is usually partially aware of their passive resistance.

Individuals with an aggressive passive personality tend to be rigid and inflexible. They follow a defined behavioral and performance behavior. These people have real difficulties getting along with the people around them. Their stubborn behavior does not allow them to adapt well to changing situations and therefore influences their daily functioning.

Causes

The reasons for developing this personality trait may be environmental, biological or genetic. It is believed that biological changes in the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain that controls how one acts in a social environment, can lead to a passive-aggressive personality disorder.

SYMPTOMS

There are some symptoms of passive-aggressive personality disorder that an individual may have. However, keep in mind that if you or someone near you has any of the following symptoms, it does not mean that you or the person is suffering from this condition. You must speak with a qualified psychologist for a proper diagnosis. The following symptoms of passive-aggressive personality disorder, which are usually observed in a negativism personality, include a person who is very happy and enthusiastic to help others or to fulfill the desires of the people around them. When it's time to start the application, they tend to bypass the pot. It will take them a long time to do it and they will show that they did not succeed.

Other symptoms are:

Procrastination
Resisting suggestions are given to them by others
These people will fight tooth and nail to pass the buck of their failure on to others.
They are always late and forgetful.
They are always complaining and tend to make hundred excuses and lies to hide their passive resistance.
They never express their hostility or anger to others.
They show resentment and sullenness.
These individuals have a fear of dependency, authority, and intimacy.
They create chaos around them and try to prove their inefficiency.
These people tend to annoy each other. They feel that they are often cheated or not appreciated by others. That's why I become very cynical and skeptical. You will find that your number of friends is small and that you are often less happy than you. When confronted, they will always fight for a verbal duel and eventually apologize for their behavior. They go for sympathy and it becomes a repetitive model. In the end, the person becomes manipulative and emotionally exhausting people around him.

How do you know if someone has passive-aggressive behavior?

Often we find individuals who seemingly satisfy all their needs and desires, but in the end, they find that they passively resist. In such a situation, you need to do a simple test to see if the person unconsciously suffers from a personality problem. Instead of turning yourself into an emotional wreck, you must take steps to help the individual and find a way to deal with the problem and get the relationship working. Just ask yourself the following questions about passive-aggressive personality disorder testing and make sure your partner or maybe you have this condition.

Do you find that your partner loses control because of things beyond your control? Does your partner accuse you and punish you for things that happen to you, even if you have no paper in them?
Are you suddenly finding your partner gloomy and depressed or angry at trivial little events? Does he ignore the real issues that need attention and completely ignore them?
Is your partner constantly complaining that you do not like him? If he or she never satisfies the number of times you try to please them?

Does he often curse life or others as the main culprits for all their problems? Do you think that he/she never takes responsibility for everything that happens to them?
Does he find that his partner creates a world of himself, and even if he shows a positive side of a question, does he tend to believe only what he perceives as "truth"?

If you find that you have answered at least three questions is YES, then you can deal with a person with a negative personality. There is nothing wrong with you and no matter how hard you try, you will never get your appreciation. These people have not learned to cope with their anger and are not emotionally available. You must accept them as they are and not blame them for your emotional problems if you are truly in love with a person with a passive-aggressive personality disorder.

It's a personality trait of a life. You will always find these people with a mask of "poor me" on their face. These people must undergo psychological therapy and cognitive therapy to recognize their problem and change their behavior. Group therapy helps them cope with their hostility towards others and try to act appropriately in a social context. Doctors may recommend certain medications to control their irritability, depression and other similar symptoms.

It is very important to learn how to recognize your symptoms to cope with the disease. With the right treatment, you can control negativity and help you lead a better and more productive life. It is very important to positively accept and try the passive-aggressive personality disorder.
