One of the biggest challenges I hear from people trying to
lose weight, eat healthier foods or just being leaner and fit is lack of
motivation.
When you exercise the reward of feeling good and losing
weight, you become the motivator yourself. See results in a chain reaction that
results in more exercise and a healthier diet. Motivating motivation becomes
your motivation.
There are certainly days when sport becomes a challenge for
me too. If it's my agenda or I feel a bit bad. Sometimes I do not feel that
way. But I know that I'll feel better later because I always do. Not only
physically, but also psychologically.
Here are 5 ways to get involved in sports:
1. Remember how good you feel after exercise. Whether it's
the feeling of pumping the heart, the height of a runner or the feeling of
having achieved something - after exercise, you feel better and better.
2. Reward yourself. Treat yourself to a reward after
training. It does not have to be unhealthy. It could be a delicious protein
shake or a healthy salad with shrimp and avocado. The idea of this delicious
pleasure will not only bring you out of the house but also make you work a
little harder!
3. Put on a nice workout outfit. When you are beautiful, you
feel good. If you do not have a cute outfit, reward yourself with purchases.
You will feel good trying on tight training clothes after losing a few pounds.
4. Do something you like. The possibilities are endless. If
you hate walking, find something else. Try a yoga or pilates class. If you do
not like group classes and would rather work out at home, try a YouTube video.
Let's face it, if you hate it, you will not do it. So watch out for something
that is fun.
5. Visualize your goal. If it's the bikini you want to look
good on, hang it next to your mirror where you see it every day. Or hang a
picture of a body ideally in your fridge. It acts as a motivator and encourages
you to choose an apple instead of this piece of cake in the fridge.
We all have different goals and motivations. The important
thing is to find what works for you and keep it going. If your routine gets
boring, try something new, look for new music to listen to, or find a friend to
work with. Just do not give up.
