It is a new year, and with a new year comes the introduction
of new goals to be healthy. As we all know, health is not always a simple
process. This may require serious commitment and legitimate lifestyle changes.
People have more options for a healthy life than ever before, but they are also
surrounded by unhealthy options than ever before, and these unhealthy options
are often the most convenient.
At Humarian, we acknowledge that pursuing and maintaining
good health requires commitment, determination, self-control, and education. It
is not a one-dimensional process. In fact, it's more like a six-dimensional
process! After much deliberation, the good doctors of Humarian agreed to six
dimensions of health. They are nutrition, exercise, mental health,
spirituality, social connection and the environment. Start with the
introductory podcast and listen to the podcast for each dimension, and stay
tuned for future updates. Let's talk briefly about each one.
Nutrition
Eat well! This sounds easy, but in today's world of fast
food, processed products and G Mos in abundance, this can be a complicated
proposition. What does biological really mean, and does it matter? How much
sugar is too much? What about hydration? Carbohydrates, fats, proteins,
minerals, vitamins and water are important components of the diet. In summary,
anything that enters your body and affects your nutritional well being is
considered part of your diet. So feed your body. Listen to the Nutrition 101
introductory podcast.
The most famous aspect of health, with the diet. The
exercise is intimidating for many because it overestimates what exercise is.
You do not need to train Cross Fit regularly. Do you take stairs instead
of elevators? Are you still on the food parking lot? There are all sorts of
ways to incorporate movement into your daily regiment to make sure you exercise
regularly. Listen to the introductory podcast for Exercise 101.
Mental health
An often neglected aspect of good health, mental well-being
is as important to personal wellbeing as any other dimension. Minor mental
health battles can be extremely harmful if left unattended for a long time.
Between counseling, meditation, yoga, support groups, and many other aids,
there are many ways to treat mental health problems before you go straight to
antidepressants and other medications. Listen to the Introduction to Mental
Health podcast 101.
Spirituality
Whether it is the belief in a higher power, a connection to
nature or a strong sense of kinship with a group of people, spirituality can
manifest itself in many ways. Usually it is connected with a sense of purpose
or purpose. Listen to the introductory podcast of Spirituality 101.
Environment
In addition to the food, this includes everything that can
affect your health. From pesticides to CO2 emissions to household cleaners,
there are environmental risks everywhere, and it's up to you to learn how to
better protect yourself. Listen to the Podcast of Environment 101.
Social Connection
We know that social connectivity is essential to good health
due to blue zones around the world. These are areas of the world of origin of
the people who live the longest. Family, social engagement and healthy social
circles are common elements of all these cultures. Healthy social connections
reduce stress and improve mental health. Listen to the introductory podcast
from Social Connection 101.
Next year, Hungarian will have blogs, podcasts, and other
content that will deepen the six dimensions of health. We discuss prescriptions,
exercise regimens, and ways to make your home less toxic. We will conduct
interviews with psychologists, spiritual leaders, social animators and many
others.
